My first encounter of this game was the DS version which I liked but I had trouble really getting into it, I think there might have been some wonky balancing in it (the DS version of IV really suffered from this as well). I really loved the low poly 3D of it though so maybe I'll give it another go in the future. When I started up the Pixel Remaster version I was very quickly hooked. This game is just really fun and playing through it was a breeze, I don't think any point really felt like it was dragging for me and the game certainly didn't overstay its welcome.

At first the game felt like a step back from the second. It does away with having a party of named characters and goes back to you creating a party of four faceless characters and selecting a job for each of them. This makes the story feel a lot more generic compared to the second and feels a lot closer to the first game.
